Your video conferencing system is uniquely identified by a S/N (you can find it in a label on the system base), starting with AE followed by 9 digits, space, 4 digits, space, 1 digit, space, 6 digits. Moreover, pressing the “?” button of the remote control you’ll access the context sensitive help: in every page the SW version (XX.YY.ZZ) and the User Code (AA:BB:CC) are reported.

Update Software
- Download the update to a folder on a connected PC.

- When executed, the program will display the following:

- Enter the IP address of the system to be updated in the field labelled “Host IP Address.”
- Press Start to begin the download.
My codec is asking me for an option key and I don't have it. How do I get one?
Contact your maintenance provider with the codec Serial Number and User Code and they will inform you of what options you are supposed to have on your system and, if necessary, give you the appropriate option key for your system. If you want check by yourself which option your system have, go by the internal web server in the licence page.
How do I connect to the codec directly?
- Connecting a personal computer
The System can be connected to a personal computer either directly or via a network (LAN) in order to update software, change remote settings or perform diagnostic tests.
- Connecting a PC to the System without LAN
To connect the System to a personal computer not connected to a LAN:
- Connect an Ethernet cable to the System connector and to the network interface card of your PC.
- From the home page, navigate through the following menus:

- SETTINGS
- INSTALLATION
- NETWORK INTERFACES
- IP
- IP CONFIGURATION
Ensure that the System belongs to the same subnet as the PC, but has a different address. If this is not true, change the System’s IP address and restart the system. - Start the browser on your PC. In the address bar, enter the System’s IP address. The web page manager will appear.
- Connecting to the System via a PC in a LAN
To connect to the System from a PC in a LAN: - Ensure that a LAN cable connects the System’s rear connector to your LAN. The PC can be connected to a LAN node or to the LAN OUT connector at the rear of the System.
- Switch on the System.
- Navigate through the following menus:
- Home Page
- SETTINGS
- INSTALLTION
- NETWORK INTERFACES
- IP
- IP CONFIGURATION
- IP CONFIGURATION
- If your LAN does not use a DHCP server, leave the Automatic IP Address box unchecked and enter the IP Address, the SubNet mask, Gateway IP Address and the DNS Server IP Address supplied by the network administrator, then restart the System.
- On the PC, start Internet Explorer. Enter the System’s IP address in the address bar of the browser.
- The web page manager will appear.
- Remote Management
The System incorporates an integrated network server that allows management of the unit from a remote PC. Through this interface it is possible to:
- Execute diagnostic tests
- Check a system
- Change System settings
- Access to the web page
Start a web browser on your PC. Enter the System’s IP address in the address bar of the browser. A request to enter the network password will be displayed. Always enter “Aethra” in the User Name field. The password can be changed from the default of “1234” in the system configuration menu. - Home Page

For correct web page viewing in Windows Server 2003 you will need to activate script execution in Internet Explorer by selecting: Tools / Internet Options / Security / Custom level / Scripting / Active scripting / Enable. A page very similar to the System user interface Home page will be displayed. From here, you can make a call in the way previously described. The arrangement of the menus for configuration and diagnostics is also the same.
